For the Earth Mother

  We honour the Earth our Mother

from whom we were raised

to whom we shall return

We thank the Earth our Mother

for all her gifts

for the honey of bees and the making of mead

for the fruits of tree and vine

and the making of wine

for the fields of wheat and barley

and the baking of bread

for the milk of goat and sheep and kine

and the making of cheese

For the fish of the stream

for shellfish and crab from seas edge

for the flesh of fowl and game

the eggs of birds

for edible roots, mushrooms, nuts, berries and seed

For the herbs for our healing, our health and delight

for the flesh of cattle, sheep, goat and pig

who die that we might live

for the salt to preserve through cold winters spell
